over, like you said, work on the communication, with the line and the receivers and what we're seeing on the field. when it gets to the regular season that's not something we're trying to work through. >> take a look, you have eagles fans supporting the eagles. but it doesn't look like the birds are going to be able to face aaron rodgers. it looks like the packers are going to hold him out after they lost their leading receiver, jordy nelson, to a torn acl. in apple ton, wisconsin, i'm john clark for "comcast sportsnet." thanks, john. you can only see tonight's game on "nbc 10" at 8:00 p.m. pregame coverage starts at 7:30. "nbc 10" is the official television station of the eagles. even though the phillies have the worst record in baseball, aaron nolo was in position to move to 5-1 on the season with a win against the padres. his catcher cameron rupp a big reason why. he's homered in four of nolan's five starts. top of the fifth, nola freezing travis jankowski.
he struck out six. bottom of the eighth, aaron alterr, the liner to right goes past a diving jankowski all the way to the wall for a triple. alterr the only philly on record to start his season with seven extra base hits. jeff rancor would come up in a pinch. if it's a nola start we're on cameron rupp alert. he does not disappoint. a three-run home run. phillies win 7-1. that's sports. i'm marshall harris from "comcast sportsnet." now your "nbc 10" first alert weather with meteorologisf brittney shipp. >> good morning. we have a warm day on tap for us. warmer than friday and as we head into tomorrow, it will get even warmer. so that could push us into a heat wave as we head into next week. i'm also tracking tropical storm erika and how it's going to affect florida. that's all coming up in about 30 seconds but right now a look outside. beautiful conditions for philadelphia. 75 degrees.
lots of sunshine for us. ou humidity around 55%. nice and comfortable but warm. across the region 64 in mount pocono, 68 in mount holly. low 70s in atlantic city. 72 in millville. 72 degrees in dover and glassboro is at 71. our average for this time of year is 84 degrees. today we'll push into the high 80s. if you take a look at tomorrow we're all the way into the 90s. we're going to stay there once we get there tomorrow into next week. our satellite radar shot shows that we have quiet conditions, not even a whole lot of cloudiness to show you either. future cast shows us that we actually have high pressure in control. it will be another sunny start as we head into sunday. as we progress the model we'll see a few more clouds moving in closer to 4:00, 5:00. even the chance for a few isolated showers moving in. these are stray, short lived showers mainly for the poconos, parts of the lehigh valley and even moving into philadelphia
right around 6:00, 7:00. we'll see more clearing as we head into the rest of the evening and then by monday we'll see a mix of sun and clouds as you head back to work. temperatures stay warm. we'll also see humid conditions. tropical storm erika is starting to push near cuba and it will continue to move to the west. as it goes over cuba it will get more disorganized, lose some of its power, turn into a tropical depression. as it finds its way out on warmer waters here we could see this restrengthening back to a tropical storm. so that's going to happen closer to monday at 2:00 a.m. we're going to watch florida closely to see what happens. right now the latest model shows just breezing by the coast closer to fort myers and also tampa and heading in closer to georgia. that's not going to be until tuesday heading into wednesday. so we're still a few days out. this is the cone of uncertainty here so you can see it gets wider as we go on through time because it's uncertain which
path this tropical storm will take. this is something, again, we'll watch closely to see if it even turns back into a tropical storm, which direction it's going to go. as far as the beach and shores today, low 80s. 82 degrees. moderate risk of rip current. as we head into sunday, 83 degrees. warmer and humid for us but it's still going to be nice and comfortable countries down the shore. 77 will be the high. mid 80s in alan town. seven day forecast shows that as we head into today, 87 degrees. by tomorrow, 90 degrees and hot and then take a look at what happens next week. temperatures in the low to mid 90s. so if we see three straight days at 90 degrees we have a heat wave on our hands. i'll continue to track how long this heat wave is going to last.
morning we do want to introduce you to a very special guest. rapunzel from the spca. thanks for being with us again. tell us about little rapunzel here. >> rapunzel came from a shelter just like sam. sam got adopted last week. she's fully vaccinated. she's 6 years old. she's ready to go to be adopted today. plus we're having an adoption event at the philadelphia union in the front. she'll be there from 5:00 to 7:00. we have give aways and we'll be ready to go. >> great. so, yeah, ppo park in chester tonight with the philly union. got a game at 7:00. you guys will be outside of the stadium. >> yes. >> folks don't have tickets, of course we encourage you to get tickets. if they don't have tickets they can show up and participate in the adoption event that's happening. >> there will be a lot of dogs and kittens there. >> rapunzel will be there? >> yes. >> you mentioned sam. this is a dog we had on last week with chas. sam you said came from a shelter
in virginia, same place as rapunzel. sam got adopted. a lot of people said we saw sampson "nbc 10" and she was taken home. >> yes. >> one last thing as you mentioned. rapunzel, 6 years old. not a bad thing to have an older dog as a pet. >> she does do a little bit of tricks, too. >> you can can teach an old dog new tricks is what you're telling us? >> when we give her treats she goes on two feet. >> she's shy in the studio. that's going to do it for us. thank you, chas. >> thank you. >> i think we have the spca's information. we can pull it up 2678915-426-6300 in case you can't make it out to the event this weekend. let's check in with brittney shipp for one last look at weather. hey, britt. good morning. plenty of sunshine expected. temperatures will warm into the high 80s. by tomorrow we're into the 9 0s and we stay there. we have one final heat wave of the summer on tap for us.
